Air quality alert in effect across Iowa

Air quality alert in effect across Iowa
QUALITY IS EXPECTED TO GET TODAY, IS THE WORST BEHIND US OR WELL, WE STILL HAVE TO GET THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. I THINK WE’LL SEE SOME IMPROVEMENT HERE AS WE GO INTO THE DAY TOMORROW. NOTICE MORE OF THE STATE IN THE RED COLOR WHICH INDICATES THE UNHEALTHY AIR QUALITY. AGAIN, THIS IS WORSE THAN WHAT WE SAW YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. AND THEN THE FURTHER EAST YOU GO INTO CEDAR RAPIDS, DAVENPORT, INTO ILLINOIS, THAT’S WHERE WE HAVE THE VERY UNHEALTHY, IF NOT HAZARDOUS AIR QUALITY FURTHER OUT EAST. AND AGAIN, THAT’S WHEN YOU REALLY NEED TO TAKE THOSE PRECAUTIONS AND LIMIT YOUR TIME OUTDOORS. STAY INDOORS IF ADVISED BY YOUR DOCTOR, IF YOU HAVE, AGAIN, THOSE UPPER RESPIRATORY ISSUES, IF YOU’RE SENSITIVE TO THE FINE PARTICULATE MATTER THAT IS IN THE AIR, TRY TO AVOID THE OUTDOORS AS BEST YOU CAN. MAKE SURE YOU CAN RUN YOUR AIR CONDITIONING IF YOU HAVE IT. YOU WANT TO KEEP THAT FRESH AIR INTAKE FILTER CLOSE. SO IT’S NOT BRINGING IN THE AIR FROM OUTDOORS INTO YOUR HOUSE BECAUSE THAT CAN AGGRAVATE YOUR RESPIRATORY SYSTEM AS WELL. AND AGAIN, IF YOU NEED IT, N95 MASKS ARE USED TO PROTECT YOUR LUNGS FROM THAT PARTICULATE MATTER. SO AGAIN, KIND OF A PERSONAL CHOICE. AGAIN, YOU KNOW YOUR BODY BEST AND YOU CAN TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THAT, BUT THOSE ARE SOME TIPS THAT THE EPA GIVES TO US WHEN WE HAVE THE SMOKE THIS THICK AND THIS DENSE IN OUR AREA. THE AIR QUALITY ADVISORY STILL IN PLACE FOR IOWA. THAT GOES UNTIL THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. ALL THROUGH TODAY, WE HAVE SEEN SOME LOWERED VISIBILITY WITH THE SMOKE AND HAZE, ESPECIALLY OUT INTO EASTERN IOWA. AGAIN, EASTERN HALF OF THE STATE. THAT’S WHERE YOU WILL START TO SEE THE WORST OF THE AIR QUALITY DOWN TO ABOUT FOUR MILES. VISIBILITY HERE IN DES MOINES. BUT WORSE AS YOU HEAD OUT TOWARDS IOWA CITY, OTTUMWA, CENTERVILLE, ALL BELOW FIVE MILES. VISIBILITY IN ALL OF THOSE COMMUNITIES. AGAIN, SMOKE WILL BE RATHER DENSE HERE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT AND INTO THE DAY TOMORROW. NOTICE SOME OF THE THICKER SMOKE KIND OF STARTS TO FADE AWAY. IT’LL START TO MIX OUT HERE BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. SO THINNER SMOKE, HAZY, JUST SOME HAZIER SKIES, NOT AS DENSE OF SMOKE EXPECTED TO MAKE ITS WAY INTO IOWA TO
