The first trailer for "The Exorcist: Believer" was released on Tuesday, and builds on the original movie "The Exorcist" released in 1973.The trailer depicts two young girls appearing possessed after returning from being missing for three days.The parents of the children believe their children will need exorcisms to release the demons they encountered while they were missing. In order to do that, Ellen Burstyn returns as Chris MacNeil, the mother of the possessed child from the original movie, to help the parents perform exorcisms on both children.Alongside Burstyn, the film stars Leslie Odom Jr., along with Lidya Jewett and Olivia Marcum as the two possessed children."The Exorcist: Believer" is set to be released on Oct. 13.Universal also announced that the sequel, “The Exorcist: Deceiver,” will be released on April 18, 2025.
