MEET LEE FOR A NAVY VETERAN WHO HAS BEEN STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP WITH HIS YARD. THERE WAS ANYTHING I COULD DO ABOUT IT. YOU KNOW, I CAN’T STAND UP WITHOUT A CANE. IN EARLY JULY, BERNALILLO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE GOT A CALL FOR A WELFARE CHECK TO MAKE SURE FOUR WAS OKAY. DEPUTY WESLEY BUSTER SAID WHEN HE SHOWED UP, HE COULD SEE THE YARD IN BAD SHAPE. I NOTICED HE WAS USING A WALKER TO GET AROUND AND I SAW WEEDS THAT WERE PROBABLY FIVE FEET HIGH. HE DECIDED SOMETHING NEEDED TO BE DONE. THE NEXT DAY WE WENT THERE AND JUST STARTED KNOCKING OUT THE WEEDS WHILE IT WAS SLOW AND WE HAD NO CALLS FOR SERVICE. THE NEXT DAY HAPPENED TO BE 4TH OF JULY. ON THAT HOT DAY, DEPUTIES GOT THE LAWN UNDER CONTROL. WITHIN TWO HOURS, THEY EVEN GOT JUST IN TIME PEST CONTROL TO HELP OUT. WE ALSO HAD A FRIEND OF ONE OF THE DEPUTIES THAT WAS WILLING TO COME OUT ON THE 4TH OF JULY AND SPRAY HIS YARD, ALTHOUGH SOME MAY SEE THIS AS A SMALL CONTRIBUTION, IT MADE FOR A GREAT 4TH OF JULY. LIKE THESE GUYS DIDN’T HAVE TO TAKE TIME. ANOTHER DAY REFLECTS REALLY WELL UPON THEM. THEIR CHARACTER. NOW FOUR, DOESN’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CLEARING OUT HIS WEEDS UNTIL NEXT YEAR AND HE KNOWS JUST THE MEN FOR THE JOB. THEY CLEARED ALL THE WEEDS OUT OF THE YARD AND THIS IS WONDERFUL. I CAN’T GET OUT AND
