CITY HAS HOSTED THE SHOW. AN AREA WOMAN CELEBRATING A MILESTONE BIRTHDAY THIS AFTERNOON. WE WERE THERE AS HELEN TINSLEY BLEW OUT THE CANDLES AND CELEBRATED 104 YEARS. IF YOU’RE DOING THE MATH, SHE WAS BORN IN 1919 TO A TODD COUNTY FARMER AND HIS HOMEMAKER WIFE, ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN, HELEN, AND HER HUSBAND, MAX, SPENT MOST OF THEIR LIVES IN LOUISVILLE. SHE LIVED INDEPENDENTLY IN THE CITY UNTIL 2012, WHEN SHE MOVED TO WESTMINSTER VILLAGE HEALTH CARE IN CLARKSVILLE. FAMILY SAYS EVEN AT 104, HELEN IS STILL A SPITFIRE. A Kentucky woman celebrated a milestone birthday on Sunday afternoon.Helen Tinsley turned 104.She was born in 1919 to a Todd County farmer and his homemaker wife and was one of eight children.Tinsley and her husband, Mac, spent most of their lives in Louisville.She lived independently until 2021, when she moved to Westminster Village Health Care in Clarksville.Tinsley's family says even at 104, she's a spitfire. As for Tinsley's secret to living 104 years? She credits it to a clean lifestyle, saying she never smoked and only had a drink on rare occasions. Another thing she does every day? She eats a clove of garlic.
