THEY ALWAYS SAY FOOTBALL COMMIT IS BACK AGAIN FOR HIS SECOND YEAR AS THE STARTER UNDER CENTER, MARBLE IS FEELING MORE AND MORE COMFORTABLE AS THE LEADER OF A TEAM HOPING TO LIFT A TROPHY YET AGAIN. IT’S JUST HIS LEADERSHIP, HIS OVERALL CONFIDENCE. YOU KNOW, LAST YEAR, YOU KNOW, HIS FIRST EVER START WAS ON THE ROAD AGAINST THE NUMBER TWO TEAM IN THE STATE. SO HE PLAYED A LOT OF FOOTBALL FOR US. YOU KNOW, FOR HIM TO CONTINUE TO TO OWN EVERYTHING THAT HE’S DOING AND MAKE DECISIONS, YOU KNOW, HE’S SHOWN GREAT IMPROVEMENT WITH THAT. AND THEN THE PHYSICAL IMPROVEMENT THAT HE’S MADE IN THE WEIGHT ROOM AND WITH HIS SPEED AND STRENGTH, I FEEL LIKE I’M DEFINITELY MORE COMFORTABLE. Southeast Polk will open the football season as the two-time defending state champions in class 5A returning seven starters on offense and six on defense.The Rams will be tasked with replacing key pieces from last year's team, such as Abu Sama and Kadyn Proctor, but they are returning starting quarterback Connor Moberly, who is set to begin his second year as the Rams' signal caller.KCCI sports caught up with the team on Tuesday to talk about how Moberly has grown since the last time he took the field.
