Alyx Sacks

Anchor/Reporter

Alyx Sacks anchors KCCI 8 News This Morning and focuses on topics important to Iowa families in her "Family Matters" segments. She joined the KCCI team in April of 2015.

Before moving to Iowa, Alyx grew up all over the West Coast. She has now lived in seven states. Alyx believes her passion for people came naturally as she moved from the state to state and had the privilege of meeting new people from various backgrounds in different communities.

This is Alyx's third television market. She started her career in Butte, Montana as a multi-media journalist a.k.a a "one man band' for NBC Montana. She then returned to Reno in 2012 as a morning reporter, fill-in forecaster, and anchor for News 4. Alyx also spent a college football season on Nevada's sideline doing sideline reporting for Wolf Pack Football on ESPN radio in 2013.

Alyx is a proud University of Nevada, Reno alumni with a bachelor's degree in journalism and sociology. There, she also played soccer for the Nevada Wolf Pack. She was named Wolf Pack Women's Soccer Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year in 2008-2009 and was named Academic All-WAC four times.

All good things don't always have to come to an end; Alyx has continued her soccer career as a youth soccer coach here in Iowa. She coaches in Waukee for Vision Soccer Academy.

Out of the newsroom and off the field, Alyx spends her time traveling the country, working out, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband and son.

Alyx also hosts a social media segment where she answers viewer's questions to anything from community projects to local events to family matters. She hunts down answers to viewer's questions in her "Ask Alyx" segment that airs on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
