Jackie DeFusco

Washington Correspondent

Jackie DeFusco joined Hearst Television as a Washington Correspondent in March of 2023.

Before moving to the nation’s capital, DeFusco covered the State Capitol in Richmond, Virginia for six local television stations. She covered a period of transformational change, from the Commonwealth’s response to COVID-19, to the dismantling of Confederate statues, to a pivotal gubernatorial race. She also tracked a slew of reforms, including the legalization of marijuana and the end of the death penalty in Virginia. She got her start in TV news as an enterprise and investigative reporter in Johnson City, Tennessee.

DeFusco earned a degree in journalism from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She interned for NBC’s Nightly News in Washington, DC and completed a journalism fellowship that allowed her to travel to Albania.

In her free time, Jackie is learning how to play the guitar (slowly) and seeking out DC’s best karaoke bars. She was raised in Rhode Island and loves a good beach day. A retired college softball player, she also enjoys yoga, running and biking.
