We spent last weekend in the Heber and Show Low area in Northern Arizona looking at some properties. We’ve decided to buy an acre or two of land where we can camp for the summer and where we can eventually build a small cabin. There are other areas in Northern Arizona that we are interested in as well, but these two communities were the first that we looked at.
Rather than spend the evenings in an RV park or campground we decided to boondock instead. Both Heber and Show Low lie within the heart of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Like any national forest, there are a plethora of numbered forest roads that lead to prime locations where you can boondock. The temperatures were pretty cool with daytime highs in the low 70s and nighttime lows in the high 30s. Sunday evening was particularly windy with gusts as high as 50 knots.
Here are just a few pics that we took over the weekend.
