The Winner of the 2016 TCA Photo Contest

kiel3 - Truck Camper AdventureMerry Christmas, everyone! We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday with family and friends whether it’s at home, camping, or out on the trail. Christmas is also the day we announce the winner of our annual photo contest. The voting was close this year, but three photos stood out from the rest. The winner of the 2016 Truck Camper Adventure photo contest is photograph 25 by David Kiel. His winning photograph was taken at the Assateague National Sea Shore in Maryland. David’s photograph is terrific. The lighting and balance are perfect and the feral horses add a unique touch to the winning shot. David’s truck and truck camper combo is a 2012 Phoenix Truck Camper and a 2007 Toyota Tundra. As the winner, David will receive a 100 watt solar power starter kit from Renogy. Renogy is a leader in the solar power industry. Their charge controllers and solar panels can be found in countless homes and RVs. I own one of their portable solar power suitcases and love it.

The second place winner is photograph 60 by Steve Cosper. His photograph was taken at the Valley of the Gods in southeastern Utah, one of my favorite places to visit. I really like this photograph, too. The lighting and balance are just right. Steve’s truck and truck camper combo is a 2016 Lance 1055S and a 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD. As the second place winner, Steve will receive a $50 cash prize.

The third place winner is entry 33 by Curt Rayner. Curt’s photograph was taken near Raymond in Alberta, Canada. This is another great photo. If the setting is right, you can get terrific photos at sunset and sunrise and Curt’s photo provides evidence of this fact. Curt’s truck and truck camper combo is a 2017 Northern Lite 811 camper and a 2015 Ford F-350 pickup truck. As the third place winner, Curt will receive a $25 cash prize.

A BIG thanks to all who all took the time to send in photographs, to those who voted, and to Renogy for sponsoring this year’s event. The entries for this year’s photo contest were outstanding (click here to see the 2016 entries). Be on the lookout for photographic opportunities in 2017. Truck Camper Adventure will be holding another off-road truck camper contest next Christmas.
