Happy New Year, everyone!! Well, here it is, the new truck I’ve been telling you about. She’s a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 4×4 pickup. The color is Pearl Blue, which is essentially Navy Blue with metal flake. The new ride is powered by the Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel and has a payload of 3,809 pounds. And, yes, those are 18-inch tires on her.
I was pretty happy with the deal I got at the dealership. The icing on the cake for me was the lifetime warranty on the engine and drive-train. Superstition Springs Dodge, where I bought the vehicle, is the only MOPAR dealership in the state of Arizona that offers this warranty.
Next up is getting her outfitted with a set of Torklift Tie Downs, so I can haul the truck camper. Unfortunately, the old set of tie downs I bought for the Ford F-250 won’t fit this truck. I will be selling this old set for $350.00. If you are interested, send me an email.
Also, when I picked her up I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bed was already wired with a seven-pin RV trailer outlet. This feature comes standard with the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck option, something I didn’t know when I ordered this truck. I’ll need to lengthen my camper’s electrical umbilical as the outlet is further back in the truck bed, but that should only take a couple hours.
Holy cow Mike! I've been checking here for a trip report but finding nothing. Hoping you can write up a comparison between the gas F250 and your Cummings Dodge. I was sold after your gas engine writeup and now you've gone and got yourself a diesel. Color me baffled. 🙂 Actually that is easy to do. But please take some time off and take that dodge out for a long weekend. Would love to hear about your new truck. -FBTX
I'll be taking her out later this month. Stay tuned for a report.
Looks like a 6.5' bed. Because you like this size or because you've already got a truck camper and want to match its size?
Both! 🙂
lol … nice truck Mike. Hope you have many happy adventures.
Nice truck, Mike! And Navy Blue, too. I wonder why you picked that color… ;c)
Yeah, it worked out good for me. I didn't have much of a choice when it came to color.
Congratulations it looks like a beaut of a brute
Thanks! I appreciate that.
Congratz on your new ride!
Thanks, Nomad! I'm pretty stoked.
Congrats on the new truck, it looks beautiful!
Thanks, Guys!!
