Yesterday we spent the day at Monument Valley, the first stop on our one week trip to Southern Utah. We’ve been to Monument Valley before, so this was an opportunity to snap some pics we failed to get on our last visit. The main thing I wanted to accomplish this time was to get some pics of the Valley during sunrise.
Fighting strong wind gusts and temperatures in the low 40s, I think I got some pretty decent pictures. I was fortunate to get there on a morning with just enough clouds to add a little bit of texture and color to the photographs. Here are a few samples including a few I took later in the day:
Closeup of the West Mitten.
From L to R: West Mitten, East Mitten, and Merrick Butte.
The West Mitten just after sunrise.

The next stop? A day at the Goosenecks, Valley of the Gods, and Moki Dugway.

Great pictures! I don't think you can take I bad picture in Monument Valley. Certainly worth getting up early for. :c)
