Off-Road Safety Academy Announces 2024 4WD Courses and Truck Camper Tours

The Off-Road Safety Academy has released its official schedule for 2024. Owned and operated by credentialed off-road instructor, Bob Wohlers, the academy provides several offerings, including recreation, corporate, and government 4×4 training, and backcountry adventure tours for truck camper owners. Many consider the Off-Road Safety Academy the best off-roading driving school in the nation.

Overlanding-Style Adventure Tours

Remote truck camping at a different location each night. Explore iconic trails and locations with like-minded adventurers. Explore more – worry less is the academy’s motto.

  • Camp on Baja Beaches Adventure Tour (April 25-May 2, 2024)
  • Death Valley Overlanding Adventure Tour (June 6-9, 2024)

Basecamp-Style Adventure Tour

Day-long, off-road truck camper exploration with a return to basecamp each night.

4WD Adventure Courses

Learn how to safety navigate your truck camper or vehicle over varied terrain. Classes are held at Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area near Sacramento, California.

  • The Total Approach to Getting Unstuck Off-Road – Recovery Course (June 22-23, 2024)

Bob Wohlers is a full-time 4WD Trainer in the USA. He has authored three books for vehicle supported adventurers, has a Masters Degree in Instructional design, a state teaching credential, and a Bachelors degree in biology.

Mello Mike is an Arizona native, author, and the founder of Truck Camper Adventure. He's been RV'ing since 2002, is a certified RVIA Level 1 RV Technician, and has restored several Airstream travel trailers. A communications expert and licensed ham radio operator (KK7TCA), he retired from the U.S. Navy in 2004 as a CWO3 after 24 years, holds a BS degree, and now runs Truck Camper Adventure full-time.
