Jeff Dubrof

Weekend Sports Anchor

Jeff Dubrof joined the KCCI sports team as the sports reporter in August 2021.

Jeff has been an avid sports fan his entire life.

Growing up in San Antonio, Texas, Jeff went to Spurs games with his family witnessing the team win five NBA titles. (The greatest pro franchise of the last century.)

Jeff attended the University of Southern California (Fight on! 2019 Holiday Bowl? Never happened.) where he majored in broadcast journalism and minored in sports media studies. While at USC, Jeff worked with the student television station as sports reporter and spent part of his time working with the student radio station where he hosted his own show and occasionally provided color commentary for USC football games including the 2017 Rose Bowl.

After graduating, Jeff took a job as the weekend sports anchor/sports reporter with KRIS TV in Corpus Christi, Texas. During his time in Corpus Christi, Jeff covered various high school state championship games, traveled to South Florida for Houston Astros Spring Training and even covered the 2019 World Series between the Astros and the Nationals.

Jeff is a former athlete himself, but after two knee surgeries, he decided to hang the gear up for good and watch from the sidelines.

His favorite teams are the San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Braves and anything USC athletics.

In his free time, Jeff loves to cook, run outside and is a huge movie nerd.

This is his first time to Iowa and the Midwest but is very excited to call Des Moines home and will take any and all advice when it comes to braving the winters to come. If you ever see Jeff out on the streets feel free to say hi to him and talk all the sports you want!

He looks forward to telling the stories for Iowa’s News Leader!
