Shannon became a part of the Sports Team in June of 2022. Growing up in Chicago, Shannon has been addicted to sports her whole life and spoiled with some of the best franchises in sports history.

She is a born competitor on the soccer field and basketball court but enjoys playing almost every sport. A graduate from a Chicagoland high school (Oak Park, IL), Shannon is a forever Fenwick Friar. At Fenwick and getting her broadcasting start, Shannon was the color commentator for the Football team and made her own sideline reporting job her senior year.

Continuing with her sports broadcast and journalism carrier, Shannon made her way to the University of Oklahoma (Boomer-Sooner!) majoring in Journalism with a broadcast focus, and minoring in Sport Management. All four years she gained experience field reporting, sports anchoring and analyzing, and shooting D1 sports for three different sports shows and a daily newscast. She was also in the Chi Omega Fraternity.

Her passion for sports stems from not only growing up an athlete but from a very early age, “color commentating” every game imaginable in the living room with her family.

Shannon is obsessed with hockey (three cups in five years if you know what I mean), so she idolizes the Chicago Blackhawks. And her other favorite teams are the White Sox, Bears, Bulls, and any OU Athletics; so if you want to get her talking, that’s a perfect conversation starter.

This is her first time in Iowa, so she says if you have suggestions for things to do, she’d love to hear about them. Shannon says always feel free to say “Boomer” or just hi in passing and she’ll always be willing to talk sports or life!
