For Sale: 2022 Ford F550-Host Mammoth Rig ($147,895)

We’re finding it necessary to settle down in place, so we’ve decided to sell our beautiful 2022 Host Mammoth and 2022 Ford F-550. The Host Mammoth has been featured on Truck Camper Adventure many times, and for good reason.  We love the space and versatility, and have enjoyed so many parks and off-road locations that are simply not accessible with another kind of RV. I wish I had a dollar for every time someone exclaimed, “holy heck, that cabover has three pop-outs! Wow!” It’s always good for a chuckle!

As reviewed May 13, 2024 right here on truckcamperadventure.com, “Host Industries’ best selling camper, the Host Mammoth 11.6 is also a personal favorite with Truck Camper Adventure readers due to its sheer size and magnificent layout. Part of what makes the Host Mammoth so attractive is that it features three slide-outs, providing an amazing 180 square feet of living space.”  We set out to have the nicest truck camper experience possible: hence the Mammoth, with the Extreme Off-grid Solar package, the F-550 with the Liquid Spring suspension (front and rear – and TruEarth upgrade!), and the StableCamper boxes and stability kit. (Jared at StableCamper was a huge help since we were rank newbies!). Once we were on the road, we took advantage of learning from articles and Facebook groups and upgraded and improved whenever it seems like a good idea. Our major mods include a new RecPro Houghton A/C, ceramic coating, the LiquidSpring Tru-Earth self-leveling upgrade and a 5th solar panel. There is a full list of mods and improvements below.

We actually started out on an F-350 diesel but after one cross-country trip, we changed our minds and were able to fairly quickly swap it out for a new 550 gasser, CM flatbed and the LQ suspension. The result was much more stability, a lot less hassle and tons more storage! We’ve traveled all over the Mountain West and, while the power difference is clear, since we don’t tow a boat or such we’ve found that we’re really fine without the diesel.
